Over the last few years Lee has done an amazing job etching his way into the hearts, minds, and ears of the underground music community. And when thinking of his music selection and singles I actually didn't see such a poppy album coming from him - but the signs were there. With singles released leading up to the album that included: Congo Dance, Living in the City, The Gift, and Alchemy if it was anyone but Lee I would be half through a rant about how much he has sold out. Listen to Alchemy - one note from a something that would be playing on your 14 year old niece's kid bop album. Think Hot Natured. And this is coming from an artist that I've said on multiple occasions has been one note from turning is set from hyphy house to insufferable trap. He clearly had a vision for this album. His musical tendencies have leaned this way for years. I'm not sure if I was blind to it or refused to acknowledge because they're not in line with mine. Either way there's a lesson to be had in there somewhere.
